The Des Moines Register reported Saturday on the controversial "pink slime" produced by Beef Products Inc. (BPI) that has found its way into fast food restaurants and school cafeterias. BPI has contributed half a million dollars to Republican lawmakers over the last decade, when this gross "product" has seen a surge in use.
