Trial On!Submitted by Adam Smith on Wed, 09/10/2008 - 4:15pm.
Good try, Ted.
Today, Sen. Ted Stevens lost his motion to throw out the charges brought against him in a wide-ranging corruption investigation. Stevens argued that only the Senate could bring charges against him as it was Senate rules he was accused of breaking. His trial is set to begin September 22.
With a tough general election challenger and a trial set to begin in under two weeks, Stevens is going to have a busy few months.
